Thoughts on the Bumblebee Conservation Trust Notebook

The “Save the Bees!” Papergang box came out in May/June last year in support of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust (BBCT) a British charity dedicated to saving and spreading awareness surrounding the bumblebee population.

This was a beautifully illustrated box (and a great cause) but I couldn’t hide my disappointment when I opened this one as  I really wanted some beautifully illustrated stationery with the fab illustrated pattern by Amy Lesko that was featured on the box.

The stationery box itself contained some illustrated postcards, the usual calendar, pencil and the notebook. However, I finally got round to using the notebook as my Monthly Notebook for January and it made a great option for the monthly notebook.

The notebook has a lovely teal (blue/green) coloured soft felt cover with yellow binding and a popper button closure.  The main disadvantage of this notebook were that the soft cover made it hard to write on the go. Ideally I had to find a table everywhere I went, otherwise I was leaning on my knees to write which was a little be awkward at times. However, there good thing was because of the button wrap around closure, I could stuff loose sheets of paper and smaller pocket notebooks inside this notebook for ease. This was great – very handy for when I was out and about.

Finally, I should add that the notebook does treat us to one bumblebee illustration on the front page. Not quite enough, but better than nothing.
