End of 2020 Review

End Of Year Review5

It has been a weird and busy year. Despite some moments of downtime down to covid-19 overwhelm and general ups and downs I am pleased that I seem to have maintained a reasonably regular blogging habit which I am hoping to carry on through to 2021 (if not increase!). To round off the year and kick-off 2021, I decided that I would share our top posts.

Top 5 blog posts

So to start here are the blog posts everyone has been reading this year (in reverse order):

5: Tsuki ‘Fuji-San’ Limited Edition Bullet Journal: Bullet Journalling continues to be popular in 2020, so it is no surprise that this beautiful notebook from Notebook Therapy was in the top 5.

4: Livework Slow and Steady 4 Month Daily Planner is at number 4 (although it was originally posted a couple of years ago. These are visually stunning planners (and v. functional). I am not sure that they are still available to buy – but they are certainly good eye-candy.

3: Top 10 Posts of the Decade! At the beginning of 2020, we celebrated a decade of posts. Our third most popular post of 2020 was a round-up of the top posts of the decade.

2: The second most popular post this year features a new notebook that I decided to try during lockdown: Baron Fig: Do Work Journal. This is a guided journal from Baron Fig. The Do Work Journal has a three-part system to help you break down your to-do list.

1: Finally, the Top Post of the Year was Kickstarter Find: Pines n Prints Weekly Planner which I was not expecting. I am not sure what made this particular post so popular. However, I am glad to see my Kickstarter Finds and featured Kickstarters continue to be popular. I plan to continue my Kickstarter finds in 2021 (as well as feature some more indie/local stationery offerings).

My personal favourites

Now that you know the most popular posts (based on the stats) I thought I would also share with you my personal top 5 notebooks and Kickstarter Campaigns of 2020:

5. Notem Annual Journal: I enjoyed this one so much that I have bought it again for 2021. This doesn’t often happen but you can tell when I like a notebook or journal enough when I buy it again! You can read my posts from 2020 here, here and here.

4. Printed Portal: I am a huge fan of organisational notebooks. The Printed Portal Notebooks are designed to have a functional purpose or goal. This year I have enjoyed using the Career Progression and Meetings Notebook which has helped keep me on track during this difficult year.

3. The Rocketbook Orbit – this has been my favourite Kickstarter Find this year. The Rocketbook Orbit is a reusable, customisable, cloud-connected pen and paper notepad. It has really made working from home a lot easier.

2. Papergang – Papio Press – I have loved all of the papergang boxes, but in particular I really loved the Papio press collaboration from November 2020. You can find the blog post here.

1. Subscriptions – My subscription boxes have really got me through the difficult months this year. If you are looking for some subscription boxes to try – check out Papergang (stationery subscription); Nero’s Notes (notebooks subscriptions); Dapper Notes (Stunning pocket notebooks) Barry’s Cactus Club (for some greenery to brighten up your desk), Printed Portal (for some organisational goodies) and Procrastination Paper (for spending some time offline).

Interestingly the majority of the most popular posts were pre-pandemic with over half of them being posted in the first quarter of 2020.

If you are not already following us on social media you can find us on Twitter where we post about general stationery news and blog posts as well as Kickstarter Finds and on Instagram where we share images of our notebook collection, Kickstarter finds and our blog posts.

Finally, if there is anything specific you would like to see here on the blog in 2021 please let me know in the comments.
