Copy Of 14

End of 2018 Review

Copy Of 14

It has been a busy year and I am pleased that I seem to have developed a more regular blogging habit which I am hoping to carry on through to 2019. To round off the year, I decided that I would share our top posts.

Top 5 blog posts

So to start here are the blog posts everyone has been reading this year (in reverse order):

5: We kick off with an old post from 2010 about one of my favourite notebooks ever – the Quaderno Italiano. Each year this notebook is one of the top posts for the year – so clearly other readers and stationery lovers continue to love this notebook too.

4: Rifle Paper Co. 2019 Planner (and a reflection on my 2017 and 2018 planners) is at number 4. This planner has been a staple in my planner collection and one I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a decent desk planner.

3: Reflect on 3 Good Things. Mindfulness, Stress-Management Gratitude and Wellbeing continue to be BIG themes in my daily life and the lives of those around me. Therefore it was no surprise that this roundup of gratitude journals was one of the top posts this year.

2: The second most popular post this year is another oldie and was originally written in 2010. Yet it is still one of the most popular posts this year! You were all keen to read about Flip-Over Books: Things to do Today Notebook. This still one of my favourite notebooks – although in 2019 I will be trying out the A “List A Day” 2019 Diary (blog post on this will be published in Janaury 2019) as an alternative.

1: The Top Post of the Year was Write a To Do List Before You Go To Bed. Looking back over the years I used to write a lot more “how-tos” as well as time management and organisational blog posts. As the top 5 posts show – you clearly enjoy this type of content the most – therefore I plan on getting back into the habit of writing on these topics.

My personal favourites

Now that you know the most popular posts (based on the stats) I thought I would also share with you my personal top 5 notebooks and Kickstarter Campaigns of 2018:

5. Moo Notebooks: Moo (probably best known for their business cards) started creating notebooks back in 2017. They have created a set of decent notebooks with 6 different colour pairings. There is a hardback notebook which is matched with a softcover notebook/journal. More recently they have also launched a custom notebook service as well as some limited edition notebooks. This included the awesome Seth Godin Ship It Notebook.

4. Printed Portal: I am a huge fan of organisational notebooks. The Printed Portal Notebooks are designed to have a functional purpose or goal. This year I have enjoyed using the Goals Notebooks, the 2018 Prompt Journal Pocket Notebook and the Visibility Planner. The new line up and Kickstarters for 2019 have recently been announced so there will be even more organisational goodies to look forward to.

3. CommeGlom: A recent addition to my notebook collection was the Anything but Humble “Coy Koi” Notebook from CommeGlom (which I received as part of my Nero’s Notes Subscription). This is a beautiful and fun notebook – so different from the majority of my collection which is why it gets a special mention.

2. Pattern Story Notebooks: It started with the beautiful Greenhouse Notebook which I bought from one of my favourite online stores Fox and Star. I enjoyed using this notebook so much as my everyday carry notebook I went back and bought 6 more (and so there will be more blog posts about these coming up in 2019).

1. The top spot goes to the Side Hustle Journal from Grit and Hustle which was a Kickstarter Find. I use a lot of journal and notebooks and diaries and I often get bored and swap and change frequently – yet this one has stayed with me all year as I’ve really enjoyed using it – which is why I thought it deserved the top spot.

Instagram Top Nine

This year we have also started to get the hang of using Instagram (although still have a way to go). This year (so far) according to top nine we have posted 170 posts and received 2.8k likes (16 likes per post). Looking at the top nine posts it is clear that it is the Kickstarter Finds and photographs of the successful Kickstarter Projects are the most popular.

The top nine features the following campaigns – the Daypocket, the here be dragons book (and stickers and bookmarks); the Flip Clip (which we also featured in our April A to Z Challenge), and a couple of Kickstarter Finds Round-Ups.

If you are not already following us on social media you can find us on Twitter where we post about general stationery news and blog posts as well as Kickstarter Finds and on Instagram where we share images of our notebook collection, Kickstarter finds and our blog posts.

Finally, if there is anything specific you would like to see here on the blog in 2019 please let me know in the comments.
