EDC: Field Notes (Utility Graph)

This month as my everyday carry (edc) pocket notebook of the month I am using the Field Notes Utility Edition (graph paper) (you can find the full list of notebooks here).

“Utility” is the spring 2017 edition of the Field Notes. The first thing I love is the colour of these notebooks. A vibrant “safety yellow” that stands out from the crowd. The second is the paper. “Utility” is available in two different paper options Engineer Graph or Ledger. I have the Engineer Graph version.

Engineer Graph features a 1/8-inch grid with bolder lines each half-inch. Perfect for drawings.

The other different thing about this notebook is the ruler. This notebook has a flip-out ruler design (inches on one side, centimetres on the other) that folds out of the back cover. To make this work the edge of the back cover is indented 1/8″ from the rest of the book.
