I is for… Italy

Moleskine

Moleskine is probably one of the most universally used notebooks globally. It is a classic notebook and is described as the heir and successor to the legendary notebook used by artists and thinkers over the past two centuries: among them Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway and Bruce Chatwin.

The company itself began life as Modo&Modo, a small Milanese publisher that, in 1997, brought the original notebook back to life and established the Moleskine® trademark.

My favourite Moleskine Notebooks (chapters) are unfortunately no longer being produced but some of my current favourites include the limited edition Wizard of Oz series, the Classic Notebook in Myrtle Green, Harry Potter Limited Edition Compendium and I am New York.

Have you used any of these notebooks? Do you know any others? Share in the comments.

Thank you for joining us during the A to Z Challenge. Our theme this month is an A to Z of Stationery from Around the World and we encourage you to follow us on twitter and//or Instagram for more stationery inspired blog posts.

  1. I have been to Italy long ago, but I didn’t see any stationery shops then. Funny you should mention Wizard of Oz. I just saw that yesterday for the first time.
