This notebook is designed to be a “fashion” notebook. Known as the “Lock-it” notebook, it is designed to be an everyday companion where you swap out your notebook and cover to suit your needs for the day.
The notebook finally turned up this week (the downside of being an international backer). The notebook was packages in a gift box and a dust bag giving a high-quality fashion feel.
The leather cover for the lock-it notebook comes in 5 colours:
- moscow copper;
- grapefruit mojito;
- on the rocks black;
- midnight gin & tonic; and
- cerveza by the beach
I chose the midnight gin & tonic (in A5)

The Cover
The buckle/strap is a bit loose (although it does allow you to slide in your pen) although my preference would have been a tighter buckle. That said, I do like the “lock it” clasp on the cover, although you do have to remember to slide it along to use the notebook while lying flat.
In relation to the inside, the cover has card slots on one side and elastic straps to enable you to add in additional slimline notebooks/inserts.
The Notebook
I chose the ruled insert. This is 160-page insert on lined pages, with a variety of pattern spreads (such as the one pictured above) throughout. The paper is premium paper stock made with 100% high-quality wood fiber.
Unfortunately, the notebook I received was damaged and the notebook has separated from the spine. Therefore I have been reluctant to try and remove the notebook from the cover in case I damage it further. However, I am looking forward to using the notebook as it is and then perhaps I will try swapping out the notebook at a later date.
The Stickers
last and most certainly not least the notebook also comes with some fabulous leather index stickers for the notebook which look and feel great. I am looking forward to seeing how durable they are.
