Over the weekend I was doing some preparation and revision for work. I ended up using the Oxford International Notebook that I bought last month for the first time.

Oxford International is described as for “demanding and well organised business people and academics”. It is brightly coloured (as can be seen from the photograph) – so it is easy to locate on a busy desk / bookshelves and difficult to misplace.

The facts and figures:

The notebook itself is a4 in size. It is casebound (stitched-binding) which I like because I think it is neater – although for those who prefer perforated pages there is a ring-bound equivalent with perforated pages.

Here is an example of a page in use. The paper is 80gsm and is ruled (with double margin). I have used simple black biro when writing on this paper and also used my Stabilo fine lined pens (orange, to match the cover), both of which wrote very smoothly and neatly on the paper.

My Thoughts:

What I like?

• great paper for writing on
• neatly held together notebook
• Sits open / flat well
• header space for titles and information

What I don’t like?

• Front cover curves with use.
• not great for ripping pages out
• Unless you are using the “heading” part on each page – there seems to be a large waste of writing room if you don’t use it.

Further Information:

The notebook is available in a variety of sizes, and bindings. I believe there is also different sizes of lines available. There is also a meeting book version (which I hope to purchase at some point).
