What are Dingbats* Notebooks?

Dingbats Notebooks are green: “We make sure that there are no nasty stuff in our notebooks – even the water used to produce the paper is returned to the rivers cleaner than when it was taken out. We use degradable and recyclable materials and only FSC certified paper. The FSC labels guarantee that the trees that are harvested are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally.

Dingbats Notebooks are vegan: “All materials used are non-animal based and hence 100% vegan as certified by the EU V-Label (www.v-label.eu). No animals were sacrificed in the making of our notebooks. We’re actually the first and only notebook brand to hold this certification.”

You can read more about it on their website.

The Dingbats Notebook that I received as part of the Neros Notes Subscription is from their signature wildlife collection. It is debossed with an elephant on the cover.

How I used this notebook:

I ended up using this notebook on a recent holiday as a Travel Journal. I choose this notebook because it was a good size for taking travelling, while still having a hardcover but not being too heavy. The high quality (100gsm) cream paper also makes is a good notebook for writing notes and journal entries in. It is smooth and is suitable for most pen types.

One other great thing about this notebook which I hadn’t noticed when I first received this is that the pages are perforated. This means that you can easily use the pages for other things as required when travelling (or if someone else you are travelling with needs some paper you can do this easily).

The notebook is functional with a pen loop, expandable pocket and ribbon marker. All of which makes it an excellent choice of notebook.

Using the notebook as a Travel Journal was simple as I built this up myself based on my needs at the time for this particular trip. I started it pre-trip with all the planning and details of all the things we arranged before the trip started.

After all the planning I then had a detailed itinerary, together with all the things I would like to do if I had extra time.

Finally, I had the journal section, for my daily journal entries about the trip.

The notebook served as my own personal guidebook (and was half full before I even left the country). The rest was filled in during my travels.

Overall, very successful use of this notebook which was perfect for using while travelling and didn’t wear at all.
